Despite having several coronavirus cases in the last several months, the Appomattox Health & Rehabilitation Center has fared quite well in dealing with and recovering from those cases, according to Administrator Cynthia Smith.
The Virginia Department of Health has reported two cases of COVID-19 in patients at the center since May 1, along with four cases among staff. Out of those cases, Smith said that one patient is still in recovery while the other patient and all staff members have fully recovered.
The center has been following its protocol when cases arise. The procedures are different for patients and staff members who test positive for the virus.
