2019 Miss Historical Appomattox Railroad Festival beauty pageant

Winners of this year’s categories are (from left) Azalea McFadden (Tiny Miss and People’s Choice), Jurzie Chambers (Junior Miss and People’s Choice), Peyton Layne (Little Miss and People’s Choice), Claudia Hamlet (Miss Historic Railroad Festival), Kaitlyn Sampier (Junior Miss title and People’s Choice), and Addison Sampier (Petite Miss as well as People’s Choice).

Claudia Hamlet was named 2019 Miss Historical Appomattox Railroad Festival at Saturday’s beauty pageant, which was held at Appomattox Christian Academy. The local beauty pageant, now in its second year, serves as a way to raise funds for the Railroad Festival while celebrating the young women and girls of Appomattox County.

As the winner of the 2019 Miss Historic Appomattox Railroad Festival, Hamlet will take her place in the 2019 Railroad Festival parade as grand marshall. It’s something she looks forward to.

In total, nine contestants were the focal point of this year’s beauty pageant: Azalea McFadden, Tiny Miss; Samaya Haskins and Peyton Layne, Little Miss; Kinsey Nicole May Blunt and Addison Sampier, Petite Miss; Kaitlyn Sampier, Junior Miss; Jurzie Chambers, Teen Miss; and Kayla Blunt and Claudia Hamlet, Miss.

Tiny Miss (and People’s Choice) went to McFadden; Little Miss runner up was Haskins while the title (as well as People’s Choice) went to Layne; Petite Miss runner up was Kinsey Blunt while the title (as well as People’s Choice) went to Addison Sampier; Junior Miss title (and People’s Choice) went to Kaitlyn Sampier; Junior Miss and People’s Choice went to Chambers; and Miss runner up was Kayla Blunt while the title went to Claudia Hamlet.
