Spout Spring wreck

Crews work on the scene of a motor vehicle accident at 5:18 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 460 in Spout Spring, according to the Appomattox County Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Three juveniles and one 18-year-old were listed in serious condition and transported to Lynchburg General Hospital after a vehicle flipped over around 5:22 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 460 in Spout Spring.

According to the Virginia State Police, the driver was heading westbound toward Lynchburg in a 2013 Infiniti G sedan when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the left side of the road. He went into the median and hit a drainage ditch, which caused it to overturn and resulted in significant damage to the vehicle.

The driver, a juvenile, was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain control of the vehicle.

According to the Appomattox County Volunteer Rescue Squad, the rescue squad, Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department, Concord Volunteer Rescue Squad, Concord Volunteer Fire Department, Appomattox County Sheriff's Office, and Virginia State Police responded with the help of Appomattox Communications Center.
