Appomattox County High School announces virtual graduation plans

Monday, May 18, was supposed to be the night when the Appomattox County High School Class of 2020 would walk across the stage at Liberty University to receive their high school diplomas.

But just like many facets of life that have been altered by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent government mandates, school officials have had to make adjustments to graduation ceremonies.

Instead of walking across a stage at Liberty, 150 graduates will trek across the Bragg Stadium field at ACHS on May 27 and 28 to receive their degrees at the 50-yard line while accompanied by parents or guardians.
