The weather is slowly turning warmer with thoughts turning toward spring cleaning.  Donating your unwanted magazines, DVDs, and books to the Library is a great way to help you clear out some clutter.

Last Week

For the Wednesday, (April 4th’s) Story & Craft Time Martha Charte read the book “It’s Springtime, Mr. Squirrel!” by Sebastian Meshenmoser.  A book about Mr. Squirrel and his friend Mr. Hedgehog, who catches sight of a lovely lady hedgehog. Mr. hedgehog isn’t sure how to win her heart, but his friend Mr. Squirrel has plenty of ideas and they go through several adventures to gain fame and glory to show her how brave and strong he is.  We followed up by coloring Mr. Squirrel and Mr. Hedgehog, pasteing grass and putting sticker butterflies on our pages.

Just a reminder that we have the Federal Tax forms and booklets for 1040, 1040 – A, and 1040 – EZ until May 1st, when they will be disposed of.  We can download or copy tax forms for the cost of .25 per page, per side.  If you would like to download your own forms and booklets you can visit www.irs.gov.

It is not to late to come get a few good reads at the annual ACLA (Appomattox County Library Association) Spring Book Sale.  We still have plenty of items to choose from starting at $ .50 each in the conference room during normal Library business hours.

The Library has a section of new Young Adult and Juvenile Fiction books located at the circulation desk for 7-Day checkout featuring lots of relevant topics for today’s adult, high school and juvenile readers.  There is a something for everyone so check out what is on display and take home a new book today.

Did you know that the Library of Virginia is sponsoring RB (Recorded Books) Digital services?  You can visit our website at www.jrjml.org, go to online resources, and look for the RB Digital button.  Click on it, start an account and have access to downloadable magazines, audio books and classics on e-book.  This service is free, all you need is a valid library card from the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library to access this service.
