Last Friday, at 7 p.m., stand up comedian James Gregory filled the Appomattox County High School auditorium with hearty laughs emanating from an attentive crowd. Just over 300 were seated and waiting in anticipation of the evening.
For some, it wasn’t the first time Gregory made them laugh as hands were raised to show how many were already acquainted with the senior comedian from Georgia.
Prior to Gregory taking the stage, Tony Clifton took the mic to kick-off the night with an introduction to the evening fun and a welcoming word to the crowd that gathered for a time of family-friendly comedy.
The event was put on as a fundraiser to benefit the Red House Volunteer Fire Department.
