The public is welcome to see High Bridge as it transcends evening into night during a full moon on Friday from 8:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. A park interpreter will meet visitors on High Bridge over the Appomattox River Valley to listen for local owl species and identify other nocturnal animals by sound.
Visitors who ride bicycles must have an operating headlight and rear reflector.
Normally High Bridge Trail State Park is closed at night, but special events like this provide an opportunity to enjoy High Bridge after dark.
The event is free, but a $5 parking fee applies at parking accesses. The trail should be clear of visitors by 11:30 p.m. on all sections.
