Mary Ellen Hall, 49, of Rustburg, pleaded no contest to felony charges of posses-sion of methamphetamine and possession of Adderall.

The case has been placed under advisement for one year, after which charges may be dismissed if Hall cooperates with a number of court requirements including but not limited to abiding by good behavior, supervised probation, 100 hours of community service and abstaining from drug and alcohol use.

Evidence presented in court placed Hall at the Appomattox Budget Inn on June 5, when an Appomattox County Sheriff’s Department deputy was called to the motel after she failed to check out at 11 a.m.

Upon arrival, Hall was found asleep on the bed of her room. A glass smoking de-vice, pipe and white substance, which tested positive for methamphetamine, was also discovered in the room.

Hall is scheduled to return to Appomattox County Circuit Court on Nov. 19, 2020, for a review of the case.
