Joshua Edward Powell, 24, of Lynchburg, appeared in court for a probation violation. As a result of the violation, Powell will serve 10 months and 15 days of active jail time.

Two years, 10 months and 15 days of a previously suspended sentence were revoked and two years resuspended.

Powell had pleaded guilty on Nov. 29, 2018, to a drug possession charge in Appomattox County. He also was convicted of a felony violation probation in Campbell County on Dec. 12, according to court records.

Powell was released from supervised probation obligations in Appomattox County because of simultaneous probation in Campbell County, but it is still under conditions of good behavior.
