The Appomattox Court House National Historical Park is seeking volunteers for the 23rd annual Park Day on Saturday, April 6, sponsored by the American Battlefield Trust.
This year’s project will be to build and paint a large section of picket fence within the historic village of Appomattox Court House. Participants should arrive at the park at 8:45 a.m. and plan to stay until 3 to 3:30 p.m.
Water will be provided, but participants should bring their own lunch. The ABT will provide T-shirts to all volunteers. This event is an opportunity to continue preserving the nation’s Civil War sites and parks for present and future generations.
The park is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information or to RSVP for the event, contact Alyssa Holland, Volunteer Coordinator, at Alyssa_Holland@nps.gov or at (434) 352-8987, ext. 234, or check out the Battlefield Trust Website at https://www.battlefields.org/events/park-day.
