Lynchburg man arrested for alleged capital murder attempt of local investigator

Roger Jermaine Stevenson, 27, of Lynchburg, is being held at the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center without bond after his Aug. 28 arrest in Virginia Beach for an alleged murder attempt on a local police investigator. 

Stevenson has been charged with felonies of attempted capital murder and hit and run. 

Lynchburg Commonwealth's Attorney Bethany Harrison said the incident in question occurred Aug. 26, and that Investigator T.M. Woody of the Appomattox County Sheriff's Office is listed as the complainant on the arrest warrants. 

No other information about the case was provided. 

Online court records show that Stevenson was booked into the Lynchburg facility Monday at 4:46 p.m. 

Records also show that Stevenson is scheduled to appear in Lynchburg General District Court for arraignment on Nov. 14 at 2 p.m.
