2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer

A 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer flipped over into a ditch around 11:03 p.m. Wednesday on the 600 block of Church Street in Appomattox County.

A driver with a revoked driver’s license who was operating someone else’s vehicle was involved in a single vehicle accident around 11:03 p.m. Wednesday on Church Street in Appomattox County that resulted in the vehicle flipping over into a ditch.

The driver, Aaron Retz, 21, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer when he crossed the double yellow lines and ran off the left side of the road, which resulted in the vehicle flipping over, according to the Virginia State Police trooper who responded to the scene.

The accident occurred while he was traveling northbound on the 600 block of Church Street in Appomattox County. He managed to exit the vehicle and was not injured as a result of the crash.

Retz told an officer that he was borrowing the vehicle from someone he knew. He was charged with reckless driving and driving with a revoked license.

In addition to the Virginia State Police, also responding were the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office, Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department with Engine 3, and Delta Response Team.

The road was blocked for a little more than an hour until the scene was cleared.

Lynchburg Garage and Towing flipped the vehicle back over and towed it.
