The Appomattox town council met on Tuesday to amend the Fiscal Year 2020 budget. Two matters were discussed for amendments in the budget — the fireworks for the Fourth of July festivities of 2020 and a donation to the American Civil War Museum (ACWM) and installation of a digital pad map at the Visitor’s Center on Main Street.

The donation to the ACWM is in acquiescence to the museum’s request for support to put a welcome center within their facility. The idea is that the welcome center would help cultivate more tourist activity in the area.
