The Appomattox County High School (ACHS) band carries not only pride for being part of the Raider tradition but also for being part of the American tradition of relinquishing personal rights (such as safety and comfort) to become a member of the military service — to serve and protect the United States of America.
In the graduate classes of 2018 and 2019 combined, there are nine band members who have committed to serving through the military. Many have gone through or are about to begin boot camp.
