Five people were sent to the hospital last Thursday after an accident in Concord.
Twenty-six year old Marah Holloway of Concord was driving a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis made a left turn at the intersection of U.S. 460 West and Route 24, when she came into the path of a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan, according to state trooper C.L. Lewis.
Jeanie Reid, 34, was the driver of the minivan and traveling on U.S. 460 East toward Appomattox.
As a result of the impact, the marquis went off the road and hit a traffic control box causing the traffic light to automatically switch to flashing lights.
Holloway and Reid along with three juveniles were taken to Lynchburg General Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Holloway was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
