Monroe Lodge No. 301 awarded $1,000 scholarships to three Appomattox County students. Worshipful Master Rodney Bryant (second from right) holds a plaque that will have the names of the new scholarship recipients (from left) Crimson Holmes, Olivia Spiggle and Tristan Lovins.

Monroe Lodge No. 301 in Appomattox awarded the Dr. Clyde G. O’Brien scholarship to three local 2020 seniors: Crimson Holmes of Appomattox Christian Academy, Tristan Lovins of Appomattox County High School, and Olivia Spiggle of Cornerstone Christian Academy.

This was the first year the lodge awarded the $1,000 scholarship to a student from each high school.

“We just appreciate the opportunity to give back and to see the youth of today grow up to see what they can be in the future. We’re trying to help build the future,” said the lodge’s Worshipful Master Rodney Bryant.

The three high school graduates expressed their gratitude in receiving $1,000 each for their future educational pursuits. All three shared what the next chapter in life would entail for them.
