Tonight at approximately 9:15 p.m., two vehicles collided with a black cow on U.S. 460 East just past Woodbridge Lane in Spout Spring.
According to a fireman at the scene, one of the vehicles hit the cow before the second car also crashed. The cars reportedly did not make contact with each other.
The second car flipped over at the edge of the grass median. According to Virginia State Police, the driver was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital with a head laceration. The severity of the injury was unknown at the time. No passengers were in the car.
The first car was pulled off to the right side of the road with substantial front end damage. The driver and passenger were uninjured.
The black cow was killed in the accident.
Appearing at the scene were the Appomattox and Concord Volunteer Fire Departments, the Appomattox County Rescue Squad, the Appomattox County Sheriff's Department and Virginia State Police.
