Back in 2012, Appomatox County had executed an agreement that the town of Appomattox would provide maintenance services for the waterline. With the contract expiring in 2021, it was time for the county to revisit the matter of the waterline’s maintenance.

The initial agreement came about because the county did not have a public works department, but the town did.

Fast forward to Dec. 31, and the town and county came to a new agreement for the waterline’s future, which began Jan. 1.
