American Legion Post 104 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9855 will host a ceremony at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Veterans Wall of Honor in front of the Appomattox Court House on Court Street to commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the country.
Nearly 3,000 Americans and citizens of other nations died on that day.
Post 104 of the American Legion has sponsored this commemoration every year since 2002. It is held to honor the victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and airline flight takeovers as well as the American military service personnel who have served and died in the War against Terrorism.
