This year, the Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church celebrated Karen Gibson and honored her for serving as music director for 30 years.

She was awarded a special plaque in recognition of her work as choir director at the Presbyterian church. 

The plaque reads as follows: “In appreciation of Karen Gibson, choir director, music teacher and purveyor of the folk arts at Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church for 30 years of patience, perseverance, passion and dedication to the arts.”

Gibson has been a long-time music enthusiast, both professionally and recreationally. She said she enjoys it and finds her role as choir director rewarding.
