Hunt Smart, Fish Hard

If you ain’t fishing early – early in the morning you are not going to beat the heat. You may get a few hours in before the humidity and the heat take over and ruin your fishing day. At least we can get in a few hours of fishing and be happy with that.

Adam and I were racking out brains trying to remember where we can go catfishing. It seems everything today is posted or the person that gave you permission is no longer there. As they say, these are the dog days of summer. It looks like they going to be here for a little bit longer.

Back years ago there was a bunch of us that hung out at The Outpost, and catfishing was on everybody’s mind. John, the owner, had just gotten in some big goldfish and the rumor back then was they were the ticket to use for catfish. Some of us went fishing at local ponds and caught some sunfish and we were going to use them for bait. We all met at John’s place and then we headed down to the river. It was John, Butch, Adam, “Birch Tree Bobby” and me.
