Seven members of the 2018 Appomattox Raiders volleyball team have been rewarded by the Dogwood District for their undefeated regular season.
Josey Walton, who led the Raiders in scoring with 291 kill shots going into Friday's district final, was named 2018 Dogwood District Player of the Year.
Walton was a force to be reckoned with all season because of her missile-like right arm that frequently delivered crowd-awing bombs into the opponent's end of the court.
Also earning First-Team Dogwood Honors for Appomattox was Sakyra Abbitt.
Raiders teammates Leah Caldwell, Alie Carrico and Abbey Mann were named to the Second-Team while Skylar Sams and Cameron Womack were Honorable Mention.
