Appomattox volleyball sweeps William Campbell

The Appomattox Raiders volleyball team made quick work of the match against the William Campbell Generals on Thursday night, winning all three sets (25-7, 25-8, 25-11). 

The game was never really in doubt as Appomattox held a sizable lead for most of the night on their home court. 

The Raiders excelled in serves with Abbey Mann's 19 serve points, followed by Madison Shirey at 13. 

Mann led with 7 defensive digs. Leah Caldwell was second with 5. 

Leading in offensive kills were Kaydence Gilbert (5) and Skylar Sams (4). 

Appomattox improves to 9-2 while William Campbell drops to 2-9. 

The Raiders are on a three-game road schedule next week: Oct. 7 at Buckingham; Oct. 8 at Nelson County; Oct. 10 at Altavista.
