On Monday, Appomattox County High School saw its first sign of official athletic activity since March as players and coaches of the Raiders football program took the field to participate in non-contact summer workouts.

The workouts were made possible because the Virginia High School League (VHSL) released guidelines Friday that enable athletic and other competitive participants to resume activities — albeit according to strict rules that call for social distancing and safety measures in coordination with mandates and recommendations set forth by government and public health officials to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
