Amherst will hold virtual art classes via Zoom for children ages 5 through 9 on Fridays, Jan. 15 through Feb. 26 from 3-3:45 PM. The classes will be taught by Jennifer Fitzgerald, who is the Art Teacher at Amherst Middle School. Projects will utilize mostly supplies commonly found in the home. Ms. Fitzgerald is an artist who teaches, and a committed arts advocate. Her teaching philosophy is that art is for everyone to love and explore. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Lynchburg, and Graphic Design at Central Virginia Community College.
