Now that winter sports practices and team tryouts are underway at Appomattox County High School, the hope is that COVID-19 will not force an interruption to the season as it did during the spring and fall.

According to an email issued by Campbell County Public Schools (CCPS) to parents, many schools in the Dogwood District, along with the Seminole District, have decided not to permit spectators to attend Virginia High School League (VHSL) winter sporting events and activities this year.

Unless Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam and the Virginia High School League (VHSL) decide to pull the plug on winter sporting events throughout the state due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Appomattox County High School athletic competitions are on pace to begin as planned.

Troy Graham of Appomattox placed fourth in the AAC Putting Competition at the 2020 All American Cup at The Greenbrier in White Sulpher Springs, W.V.
