Pamela Jean LaBuda, 59, of Pamplin, was sentenced Thursday, June 29, to serve one year of imprisonment on a felony charge of grand larceny auto theft.

LaBuda had pleaded not guilty to the charge but was found guilty at a March 28 jury trial in Appomattox County Circuit Court.

Evidence in the case states that LaBuda had been using drugs with friends during a drive on Sept. 1, 2022. After a verbal argument ensued, LaBuda was left on the side of the road.

While still on foot without a ride on the morning of Sept. 2, 2022, LaBuda noticed a red Chevrolet pickup truck parked with the keys in the ignition. The vehicle was a work truck owned by an Appomattox male who was performing electrical work at a local residence.
