Churches in the Central Virginia area have been making plans to cancel or alter - or remain status quo - amid concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
Two local churches (among others), Liberty Baptist in Appomattox and Thomas Road Baptist in Lynchburg, have made similar decisions.
Liberty Baptist announced on its Facebook page that all March 15 services and activities are canceled, but a 9:30 a.m. service without a congregation will be streamed on Facebook.
Thomas Road Baptist will hold a 9:30 a.m. service but encourages people to use their better judgment and asks that people who are sick or among the most vulnerable stay home and watch the service online or on television. The service will be streamed online again at 11 a.m.
To find out if your place of worship will be holding services or not, contact the church or view its website or social media pages.
If your church broadcasts on the radio, that is another option to consider if your church has canceled services or you choose to remain at home.
