On Friday, Hope for Tomorrow Counseling held an Open House event to mark the official opening of its office in Appomattox.
Hope for Tomorrow Counseling, based in South Boston, is now in eight locations. The first location opened in Wyndhurst in 2007. The organization is a ministry of Patrick Henry Family Services, formerly known as Patrick Henry Boys and Girls Plantation.
The Appomattox office, located at 181 Old Courthouse Road in the Triangle Plaza Shopping Center, currently employs three licensed resident counselors working toward their Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licenses. Avery Via (Appomattox County High School), Martha Cashel (Appomattox Elementary School) and Bridget Mathwin (Appomattox Middle School) are each employed as school counselors during the school year.
