Dominion Energy is requesting approval from the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) for several of the company’s rural broadband projects on the Northern Neck and in Central Virginia, including Appomattox County.
Dominion Energy is proposing approximately 300 miles of additional “middle-mile” fiber optic cable across Virginia in the latest petition filed with the SCC. Locally, the Company is partnering with Internet Service Provider (ISP) Firefly Fiber Broadband to help bring broadband access to unserved locations in Appomattox County. The SCC is expected to issue its Final Order on the proposal within six months.
