During the Appomattox County Board of Supervisors meeting Monday, April 18, the board reviewed a request from Circuit Court Clerk Janet Hix, who requested that adjustments be made to personnel salaries.

The funds were appropriated in the clerk’s fiscal year 2022 departmental budget, and when an employee leaves, as is the case, the funds are not specific to the position but to individual persons.

An employee departed in March, and Hix requested to re-appropriate funds in the amount of $4,457 that were budgeted to the departing employee’s position, plus a five percent salary increase going forward.

Appomattox County Board of Supervisors Vice-Chairman William Hogan noted that this would be the department’s fourth salary increase since June 2021. The board seemingly dismissed the request.
