Virginia Carolyn Caldwell Carnefix, 77, of Appomattox, died Thursday, November 25, 2021. She was the loving wife of Joel Dickerson Carnefix.
Born in Lynchburg, January 2, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Kathleen Whittington and David E. Caldwell, Jr. Virginia was a member of Northminster Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was a secretary for Moses Motor Company, a piano teacher and homemaker.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Fedison and husband, John of Salem, Susan Cheatham of Spout Spring, and Jennifer Tucker and husband, Randy of Appomattox; two nieces, Sandra Thorne and husband, Bill, and Debbie Burch and husband, Kip; one nephew, David R. Caldwell, Jr.; and six grandchildren, Dylan Cheatham and wife, Colby, Tyler Fedison and wife, Emma, Haley Fedison, Emily Cheatham, Olivia Tucker and Madelyn Tucker.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Stuart Cheatham; and brother and sister-in-law, David R. Caldwell and Jenny.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Monday, November 29, 2021, at Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Garrison officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends at her residence.
