Appomattox Insights: County Administrator's Update

Howdy Friends! Each month at our regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meetings, our County Administrator provides a update on county affairs. I thought it would be a nice thing to talk about a few topics here in our Appomattox Insights column.

Animal Control: had 111, calls. Took in 50 animals. Returned 5 to owner, adopted 14, transferred 8.

Public Safety: 4 new dispatcher started January 1.

  • Replaced all stolen signs, and installed the new repeater for county wide channel.
  • Incoming 911 calls, 651. Incoming non-emergency calls 1,369. Outbound calls 1,148.
  • Appomattox Rescue calls dispatched, 279.
  • Concord Rescue calls dispatched, 284.
  • Sheriff’s Dept. calls dispatched, 1,013.
  • Fire calls Dispatched – AFVD, 29 – PVFD, 5.
