We both had been working a lot and needed a break. The weather forecast was good for the weekend, and it was time to take the boat out. We had purchased a 46-foot express cruiser two years ago, and between work and golf, there has not been much time to enjoy our passion.

We invited another couple for the weekend as our yacht has two staterooms with en suite bathrooms, full kitchen with generator, four TVs, and two large Caterpillar engines.

We arrived at the dock at 6 p.m. and loaded the boat for two nights of fun and relaxing. By 7 p.m., we had released the lines and were heading to our first anchorage at Salt Works Creek. We were able to tie up to a Naval Academy anchor buoy. The buoys are used during storms to secure their Yard Patrol boats, which are used for training.
