For the Tuesday, June 14, “Library for All” program, it was all about oceans and sunshine! A library staff member passed out octopus, jellyfish, and UV bead bracelet kits to reflect the 2022 Summer Reading theme “Oceans of Possibilities.” Almost a dozen patrons attended, enjoying crafts, juice and an assortment of chips.
On Wednesday, June 15, Tifani and her faithful friend Spot the Book Bus parked at the library. We are a part of their regularly scheduled route this summer and are excited to be a part of their mission to promote the love of reading. Spot is sponsored by Appomattox Literacy Intervention Project (A.L.I.P.), a non-profit charitable organization which began in 1996 in order to promote literacy throughout Appomattox County. The library donated two boxes of books and an employee passed out craft projects and candy during Spot’s visit. Spot will be back at the library on Wednesday, June 22 and 29, and in July on the 6th & 13th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
