Appomattox County High School cross country runner Madison Martin broke her own school record in the 5K run with a time of 19.47 on Wednesday at the VHSL 2A Region C Championships in Salem.

Martin previously broke the school record Sept. 10, 2022, with a time of 20:38 at the Knights Crossing Invitational. She again set the record with a time of 20:09 at the 2022 regional meet.

Martin placed fourth overall in the girls division on Wednesday.

Martin, along with Raider teammates Clay Hamilton and Miriam Robindolph will compete in the VHSL Class 2 State Cross Country Meet on Nov. 11 in Salem.
