The Appomattox Raiders girls 4x100-meter relay team of Amyah Bolar, Kelsey Hackett, Nadiyah Abdussalaam and Harmony Troxler won the VHSL Class 2 State Championship in the event Saturday at James Madison University with a time of 51.67 seconds.
The Raiders edged Prince Edward County, which finished second in 51.99 seconds.
The girls tied for second place overall with Strasburg with 43 team points. Prince Edward won the girls division with 51.5 points.
The Raider boys finished 12th overall with 14.50 points. Radford won the boys division with 60 points.
