Appomattox's Johnson achieves 1,000 career point milestone

Appomattox Raiders senior girls basketball player Shaniya Johnson was honored Tuesday night for reaching the 1,000 career points milestone.

Her 1,000th point came on a free throw early in the first quarter of the Raiders’ 48-45 win over Dan River at Appomattox County High School.

Play was stopped briefly, and Johnson was rewarded with a game ball, personalized cake, balloon, flowers and a “1,000 Points” sign.
