Long-time AVFD members recognized for service

The Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) often recognizes members within its department for their years of service when they achieve certain milestones.

Earlier this year, AVFD recognized two men for 52 years of active service. Thanks to Brad Creasy, executive director of Virginia Department of Fire Programs, Freddy Godsey and Earl Martin received letters of commendation from Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, recognizing their 52 years of service as firefighters and officers, but most importantly as mentors to AVFD members.
