On Thursday, March 9, the Appomattox Moose Lodge 975 made financial donations to various public service organizations within Appomattox County, as well as to its parent charity group.
Receiving the gifts were the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office, Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD), Appomattox County Animal Shelter, Appomattox American Legion Post 104, and Moose Charities, Inc., located in Mooseheart, Ill.
Special guest was Bruce Masopust, chairman of the board for Moose International.
The Moose Lodge is required to donate a percentage of the money it earns monthly through streams such as gaming machines and food and beverage sales, according to Scott Almond, president of Appomattox Moose Lodge 975.
