The Appomattox County Board of Supervisors’ meeting June 15 considered a request from Dr. Annette Bennett, Appomattox County Schools superintendent, to supplement $516,229 to Fund 3 School Capital Improvement Fund (CIP).

This $516,229 was the audited unspent fiscal 2019 school funds that the Appomattox County School Board and the county’s board of supervisors voted to consider re-appropriating to the School CIP.

County Administrator Susan Adams said it was the county attorney’s recommendation that should the board intend to re-appropriate the funds to the school CIP, it would be “more transparent to advertise and amend the budget in July.”

The board was all ayes to consider the appropriation request in July.
