Man sentenced for
meth distribution
James Robert Johnson, 29, of Concord, received a six-month sentence for a felony possession with intent to sell or distribute methamphetamine conviction to which he had pleaded guilty Oct. 14.
As reported in the Times Virginian’s Oct. 27 edition, evidence showed that Johnson sold 6.7 grams of methamphetamine for $500 in the Appomattox Hardee’s parking lot in October 2020.
At Johnson’s sentencing hearing Jan. 13, he took the stand and expressed remorse, stating this situation was “the biggest mistake of my life.” He also admitted to using various drugs in the past, including marijuana, mushrooms and cocaine.
Other than the six-month term, Johnson received nine years and six months of suspended time with conditions of 10 years good behavior and two years supervised probation.
