An Appomattox woman faces multiple charges after her vehicle collided with another around 7 p.m. today at the U.S. 460 exit on Oakville Road in Appomattox.
According to the Virginia State Police, Deronda Foster, 56, of Appomattox, was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry when she failed to yield the right of way when making a left onto U.S. 460. She collided with a Chevy Silverado, and traffic was blocked for about 30 minutes as crews cleared the scene.
Charges for Foster relate to failure to yield the right of way, no drivers license, improper registration, and no insurance.
Injuries were reportedly minor for both parties, but the driver of the Silverado was taken to the Lynchburg hospital.
In addition to the Virginia State Police, responding included the Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) with Engine 3 and Crash 9 and the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office.
AVFD members provided traffic control and cleanup.
Phelps Garage Inc. Towing and Transports in Appomattox towed the Camry while TowGirlz Towing in Rustburg, Virginia, towed the Silverado.
