CVCC receives $240K grant for scholarships

Central Virginia Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. (CVCCEF) has been awarded a $240,000 grant from the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission.

The grant, effective June 1, 2023, is for scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year and will be awarded to college students living in the counties of Appomattox, Campbell and Bedford.

The grant components include $170,000 for students studying in STEM-H and Advanced Manufacturing programs and an additional $70,000 for students in Workforce Credentials earning programs. Subjects covered by the funds include classes in Computer and Electronic Technology, Cyber Security, Machine Technology, and more. Since the first Tobacco Commission grants were issued in 2001, CVCC has received over $4 million in funding.
