On May 6, Relay for Life will host its annual event at Courtland Festival Park in Appomattox that will bring the community together, raise money for cancer and unite cancer victims.

Relay for Life, an organization that raises money for cancer research, cancer victims and cancer survivors, will be kicking off its event at 3 p.m. by having activities centered around food trucks, bouncy houses, games and walking spaces.

“Relay for Life events are a great way for the community to come together to support those who have battled cancer, to celebrate our survivors, and do our part to fight back against such a deadly disease,” said Appomattox Relay for Life Event Coordinator Tori Rothgeb.

Since Courtland Festival Park is right in the center of the Town of Appomattox, it is a great venue that will allow people from all parts of the town and county to attend.
