Appomattox Relay for Life set for Saturday

Appomattox Relay for Life will host a fundraising event Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Courtland Festival Park.

Appomattox County residents can attend this event to show their support for cancer victims, donate money for cancer research and enjoy the festivities.

Cancer affects many people’s lives in a serious way. Whenever a person loses a loved one to cancer, the person may experience heartbreak since cancer prevented them from making memories with the person they love.

“My mother died over 15 years ago from ovarian cancer, and it still hurts,” stated Appomattox Relay for Life Co-Chair Susan Williams. “I think of all the time we could have had and should have had.”
