Robert Lee Glenn, Jr., 62, of Pamplin, died February 12, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Amy Christian Glenn and the late Mona Lisa Keffer Glenn.
Born in Hixburg, Va., on March 5, 1958, he was a son of the late Clemmie Maxwell and Robert Lee Glenn, Sr. Robert was a member of Walkers Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He began his career as a crane and equipment operator for the Appomattox Lime Company from 1973-1976 and then from 1976 – 1979 with C.H. White Construction. In 1979, he was employed by Commercial Steel Erection as a crane operator and field equipment manager until 2012. Robert started his own business in 2005, NCCCO Certified Trainer and CCO practical examiner.
He is survived by his special lady love, Tammy Tomes; one son, Jason Robert Glenn of Pamplin; one daughter, Mary Virginia “Jenny” Glenn of Key Largo, FL; one brother, L. Twyman Glenn and wife, Micki of Madison Heights; two sisters, Janice G. Dowdy of Pamplin and Rose Crabtree and husband, Wesley of Utica, KY; a step-daughter, Keisha Almond; step-grandson, Jacob; four nieces, Joy, Stephanie, Katherine and Lauren; business partners, K.C. and Sara Wallace; best friend and longtime employer, Danny Moon; and his canine friends, traveling buddies, “Tyson” and “Diesel” his bulldogs.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Luther B. Glenn and sister, Betty G. Reamer.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Walkers Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor Marina Gopadze officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Please practice social distancing and wear a mask. For overflow purposes and for those who wish to remain in their vehicles the service will be broadcast on 98.7 FM.
Mr. Glenn will be available for viewing from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2021 at Robinson Funeral Home.
