February is here, and love is in the air! There is a scandal at the library, as every year during this time the staff passes out kisses! Hershey’s Kisses that is, so stop by the circulation desk and ask for a kiss (or two), while supplies last. Don’t forget to ask for a craft project to go, as we have added some Valentine’s Day sticker activity kits for kids to take home.
On Tuesday, Jan. 31, the library celebrated “Hot Chocolate Day” by providing hot water, hot chocolate packets, marshmallows, cookies, assorted teas, and more for patrons to enjoy. Several dozen patrons showed up to beat the winter blues at this event. There were hot chocolate related activity sheets with crayons for patrons to entertain themselves while they sipped their hot drinks and snacks.
We would like to thank ACLA (Appomattox County Library Association) for providing most of the supplies for this event. The program was so well received that during the rest of the week the library staff set up a hot chocolate/tea bar in the foyer for patrons to enjoy a warm beverage during this rainy winter season.
