Appomattox girls basketball to host Chatham in Dogwood District battle

The Appomattox Raiders girls basketball team finished the week with one win and one loss for a 6-8 overall record. Their 3-1 record in Dogwood District play puts them in second place behind district leader Chatham (5-1).

Appomattox defeated district opponent Gretna at home on Jan. 17 by a score of 52-45, and lost on the road to Buckingham 54-23 on Jan. 19.

The Raiders traveled to Altavista (4-10, 1-5) on Tuesday night. The result will be updated in the next edition of the Times Virginian.

Chatham visits Appomattox on Friday for a battle between the Dogwood’s top two teams. Junior varsity begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by varsity at approximately 7 p.m.
