Savannah Totty

Shown is Savannah Totty, senior member of the Appomattox Raiders girls soccer team.

Savannah Totty is a 2020 graduate of Appomattox County High School and has been a vital member of the Raider women’s soccer program.

Totty was the last line of defense, in her goaltender position, during the historic 2018 season when the Raiders became the first soccer team in school history to play in a state championship game.

The previously undefeated Raiders lost that game 1-0 to George Mason on a controversial overturned Raider goal and a disputed penalty call on Appomattox, which led to the lone score of the contest.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Totty and her 2018 teammates made history and are now the gold standard by which future girls soccer teams at ACHS will be measured.

Totty was going to be the only senior member of the youthful but largely inexperienced 2020 squad until schools and sporting competition were ended due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and Gov. Ralph Northam’s mandates.

Totty agreed to an interview with the Times Virginian to reminisce on her soccer years, discuss her future plans, and also answer a few less serious questions.
